Folklore: Also known as "goosegrass" and "Our Lady's Bedstraw", Cleavers was originally used to curdle milk to make cheese, therefore the name "galium" derived from "gala" which means "milk" in greek. Cleavers were also at one time in history used to stuff mattresses and this material was also believed to be one of the materials used for the manger for the baby Jesus. Geese love the herb and use it as a mainstay of their diet, hence the name "goosegrass".

Cleavers are best known for their ability to assist the lymphatic system with drainage while purifying the blood and are traditionally used by Herbalists to treat those with breast tenderness, swollen lymph glands, tonsilitis, prostate disorders and the like. Cleavers have also gained a reputation for healing tumors, skin eruptions, urinary tract disorders, and also used as a "blood tonic". 

Combine Cleavers with Chickweed for an effective system cleanser and slimming aid which breaks down fat cells and moves "stuck" fats which are normally hard to shift and dissolve.
